Programming Languages

A programming language is an artificial language designed to communicate instructions to a machine, particularly a computer. Programming languages can be used to create programs that control the behavior of a machine and/or to express algorithms precisely.

Notes

  1. Okay, but which programming language should I use? Choose the language that's most appropriate for the problem you're trying to solve. If you're interested in marketability, see the TIOBE Programming Community Index for measures and trends of programming languages' relative popularity.
