I have unfortunately been unable to find a topic within the time and money constraints. I have instead opted to get a Master's in Computer Science as recommended by my current major professor, Dr. Robert Platt. This page is currently under development as I work with Dr. Rapaport to develop my dissertation topic. I enjoy so many areas of computer science that I am finding it hard to specialize on one small issue. I am fortunate to be under the excellent guidance of Professor William Rapaport for many reasons, but in particular he is allowing me to pick virtually any topic I wish. This has proven to be both good and bad, as with so many choices it seems to be harder to commit to just one. As much of my research and passion lay in artificial intelligence issues, I continuously search for a comprehensive solution that can process different modalities as well as account for interaction between sub-symbolic and symbolic layers. I am continuously lured from comfortable symbolic and propositional processing to the domain-independent and agile connectionist techniques and back again; I just have not found a strategy or discovered a model that meets the requirements necessary to reach the holy grail of AI. So please forgive me my vassilation, but I hope to commit soon. Until then, feel free to browse my other pages that show some projects and accomplishments that I am quite proud of. Side note: Why put so much effort into these pages? Well, I have always felt if you are going to do something, do it the best you can. My purpose is not only to document what I have done, but also to provide my three children an example of what they too can achieve in life. I always have felt that a person should "Lead by example and not by words alone." (Who said that quote? Someone email me a reference please.) So if I wish to encourage my children do their best, I must not only encourage them by word and instruction, but hopefully, by my deeds they will see that too I have tried my best in all I have done. That is all anyone could ever ask of another person, I think!
